Booked a room with fresh milk in a fridge on the landing. Location: the hotel was near to town centre, shops, Whitby. Local fast food option Porto Pizza was 10 minutes walk away.

steps from car park, clean and functional rooms, free parking
The multiple stairs to access the front door and rooms are a real workout!!! The cramped room featured a sloping roof!!! The TV placement needs serious rethinking, it's awkward!!!

Rooms sport a clean and tidy vibe, with drink-making facilities, fresh towels, and toiletries available. Breakfast delivers a solid range from fruit and yogurt to a hearty full English, setting up a good start each morning.
The rooms can feel a bit snug, with some having unique quirks like sloping roofs that make it tricky when getting out of bed. Steps leading in and out, while known beforehand, could pose a challenge in wet weather. Parking is a bit cramped, requiring some maneuvering, which may not suit everyone.

The free parking was a lifesaver! Room was comfy, everything was clean and breakfast was cooked to order, just how we like it. Nice to have fresh milk for tea/coffee too, big plus! Loved the little touches like fudge left for us, very cute.
The bathroom was really tiny, never seen a basin so small and the pressure in the shower could be better. Had a few steps to climb, a bit tough for older folks.

Recommend it for couples looking for a cozy retreat
The breakfast was really good-definitely the highlight! Dan's poached eggs were just perfect and pretty much saved my morning. And, I've gotta admit, the cleanliness was spot on! The room was super clean and comfortable, no hint of grime anywhere.
It wasn't exactly a bargain but still reasonable for what you get.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a spacious double room with a cozy bed and fresh milk for our tea, which was a nice touch! The place also had a lovely garden area to relax and a sun terrace to soak up the sun. Just a small thing, the shower pressure could be a bit stronger, but it didn’t dampen our stay at all. 👍

missingWrote a review on 17 Julclean roomsgreat locationthoughtful extrasawkward layout
The location provides easy access to the town center, just a five-minute walk away. Clean rooms offer thoughtful extras like wine glasses and a full-size fridge stocked with fresh milk.
Watch out for the numerous steps leading up to the entrance. Additional flights to access the rooms. This can be a workout, especially when hauling luggage. In some rooms, the awkward sloping roof may force you to duck and dodge, and the TV positioning can lead to neck strain as it's mounted unusually at the head of the bed.

The owners provide really good hospitality. Breakfast was fantastic, with a generous full English that kept us full well into the afternoon. The hotel's exterior needed attention, and the fridge amenities mentioned were not available . The payment methods were limited to cash only, inconvenient.
